About Moonflower Farms & Technology Center
Moonflower Farms, founded in 2016, was Houston's first indoor vertical farm. In 2019, we moved into our new 20,000 SF hydroponic greenhouse located on 5 acres in south Houston. We are a true urban farm. We provide the community locally grown, pesticide-free microgreens, lettuces, herbs, edible flowers and specialty crops. Our mission is to foster sustainable city farming providing healthier, locally-grown produce that makes our communities stronger and more secure. We use 95% less water than conventional farming, reduce food transportation wastes by being a local grower and will continue to find ways to reduce food wastes and eliminate food deserts.

Went for the Sunday farmers market today. It's relatively new so they are still in the building stage. Moonflower is a hydroponic farm (see pics). The employees I met were knowledgeable and friendly as were the vendors. I did buy a couple of items. Moonflower participates in To Good To Go app offering a surprise bag. Check out the app for the latest deals. I hope to make it back to see what other offerings and programs the have.

I had a TooGoodToGo order for live basil plants and was greeted by a sweet volunteer. Learned a little about the greenhouse. Can't wait for the Fall farmer's market!

We recently toured the facility and highly recommend this to anyone who is curious about our food sources, growing technology, NASA collaboration, entrepreneurship and honesty, lots of other topics. The CEO and others who helped with our group were so kind and patient with the kids. They were happy to answer every single question asked and presented the information in a captivating way while also ensuring the kids (and moms) learned along the way. I would love to offer up the suggestion that you get a group together of friends, family, scout troops, co-ops etc and schedule a tour. I look forward to following their growth and I hope people continue to support their efforts!

My daughter and I attended a class as part of a Homeschool excursion here. This was great! Very informative. My daughter went home and planted her micro greens garden right away and wanted to learn even more about hydroponics. She was very excited to tell her dad and brother all about it! I am sure this will not be our last visit. Everyone should go and have the experience and learn about hydroponics in their area. You might want to start your own garden!!

Just bought my first box and wow these veges are tasty! The subscription box comes with a nice variety of leaves and micro greens. The butterhead lettuce was seriously sweet and the arugula had a nice bite. Plus they deliver in Houston! Definitely adding to my monthly CSA subscriptions.
